Two months ago to the date, I wrote a case about HBS and their record on race and gender. I timed the case to launch as the academic year began (Aug 25th was the first day of first-year classes).

The strategic plan, framework and marketing plan were developed using HBS thinking and alums that are experts in their fields. “My hope is that it shifts the global perception of the word black, which has always meant inspiration, love, strength and beauty to me. “Black is King” means Black is regal, rich in history, purpose and lineage.” — Beyonce on the project’s intention

I am a major fan of Beyonce and remain inspired by her love of black people and the diaspora. I enjoy learning as much about the diaspora as…

If you are here, you are interested in learning more or contributing solutions focused on undoing the structural racism in response to the recent murders of Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, George Floyd in 2020. Police brutality is an outcome of a system — one that sees racial disparity in policing, sentencing and accountability.

I am not an experienced organizer nor have expertise in this space; I’m just tired of seeing people say they don’t know what to do. Here’s my take on ways ordinary people can get involved: the focus is on actions to be taken (not just reading anti-racism…

The excerpt below originally appeared on my Facebook Jan 16, 2017. Reposting for ease.

By now you’ve probably seen many posts from your other friends about MLK’s legacy and less “well-known” stances. It’s also VERY important to understand how the day became a federal holiday — tl;dr: it was controversial, took a village, faced significant challenges and in some places is honored in the most disrespectful of ways.

It was part of an experience of performing black maleness that stood in stark comparison to how black maleness was performed in my home environment…
